Epic Games have announced the next new Fortnite Update, v12.50. Here’s all you need to know including patch notes, server downtime, possible leaks and more.
Epic Games have announced that there’ll be a new Fortnite update coming, v12.50. The last Fortnite update prior to this was the v12.41 update which included files for the Travis Scott X Fortnite collaboration including the skins that were leaked prior to the event starting.
With the v12.50 update confirmed for tomorrow by Epic, we’ve rounded up everything we know so far about tomorrow’s update.
Fortnite Update
Fortnite servers downtime and when they’ll be back up
As you’ll already be aware by now, Epic have decided to change the time they release Fortnite updates. Prior to this season, Epic would release updates at around 4 or 5 AM EST. However, with the launch of chapter 2 season 2, Epic have been releasing them at 6 AM UTC (1 AM ET).
Tomorrow’s Fortnite update is no different with the Fortnite servers coming down for maintenance at 6 AM UTC. The servers should be back up at 7 AM UTC, but we’ll keep this section updated to alert you as to when the Fortnite servers will be back up.
In the tweet announcing tomorrow’s update, it states that the update is dispatched from The Agency, an obvious hint that we could see challenges, map changes or something else relating to The Agency.
Fortnite Patch Notes
We already know Epic won’t be releasing the official Fortnite Patch Notes for tomorrow’s v12.50 update. However, in the season 2 extension blog, Epic stated there would be new game features and challenges being added to the game.
If we see those features and challenges in tomorrow’s v12.50 Fortnite update, we could see some small patch notes released by Epic. If not, we’ll still be posting our unofficial Fortnite Patch Notes if there’s enough new or changed information to outline.
New Weapon
There’s a chance we could see a new weapon added in the update tomorrow. There was a charge shotgun that was leaked in the last major update, v12.40. There were also dual-wield pistols that were leaked, both of which still need to make their way into the game.
Dataminers leaked information regarding the gun with the Charge Shotgun dealing 68, 77, 85, 95, and 102 damage from common to legendary, and the headshot multiplier being x1.5. The charge time will be 1 second and the gun will have a clip size of 3.
Overtime Challenges
With all of the normal Fortnite challenges now released, including 9 weeks of Deadpool challenges, we could see v12.50 introduce overtime challenges into Fortnite. We’ve had overtime challenges for quite some time now, and it’s very likely we’ll see them added in tomorrow’s update.
If they are added, we’ll cover them in an article along with guides on how to complete the challenges if required. Fortnite overtime challenges always provide players with additional styles for the Battle Pass skins, and we’ll likely see the same this time around.
Leaks
As with any major Fortnite update, dataminers will leak all the new files that are added in v12.50. We’ll definitely see some brand new Fortnite skins and other cosmetics with the possibility of seeing new Fortnite challenges and items/weapons in order to keep the game fresh.
As always, we’ll keep you updated with all the latest news, leaks, guide and more from tomorrow’s update, so be sure to turn on website notifications so you don’t miss any of our coverage on the update!
